Alex Teixeira: “This is something incredible”

Yesterday, the 19-year-old Brazilian midfielder, Alex  Teixeira joined Shakhtar’s squad. Having come to Donetsk to settle transfer affairs, the newcomer has already managed to become familiar with the Club infrastructure:

—Frankly speaking, I did not expect such things: an amazing training camp, friendly and kind employees. All these things have surprised me so much, I can not find a right word.

—More likely, the weather in Donetsk made you surprised as well?
—It is not the right word! This is something incredible; I have never seen snow in my life before! And now, here you are!

—To join the team it will not be hard surely for you, as there are many Brazilian players in Shakhtar…
—Yes, from this point of view, it will not be difficult. I hope, the guys who have spent here more than a year, will help me to adjust to the new club and unknown country.

—Are you acquainted with any Brazilians from Shakhtar?
—Apart from Leonardo, I do not know anyone personally.  He used to play on a loan in my former club Vasco da Gama. So I will have to meet the rest of the team.

—You will  have to meet the Donbas Arena as well…
—Yesterday evening I went past this great stadium and saw it only outside. The view is striking. I think, I will have a chance to see it closer in future.

—What did you know about your new club before you had signed a contract?
—I know this team is the UEFA Cup Winner. And such achievements cost much. I hope to make a valuable contribution to the Club and will do my best.

—What are you going to do next, after signing a contract?
— More likely, I am going to Brazil this evening. And I am coming back to Donetsk in early January.

—Is your family going to come here with you?
—Yes, my parents will come along with me. Perhaps, it will happen at the end of the training camp.
