Fernandinho: ‘I was present at delivery, stayed conscious, even enjoyed the experience’

Great animation reigned in Hirnyky’s change room after the clash with Donetsk Metalurh. The players emerged from the dressing room happy, not to say gleaming. And answered the questions with unconcealed high spirits.  

Yaroslav Rakytskyy:

- Yaryk, did you feel like this would be a real derby with the rival aiming at a go-for-broke victory?
- Sure I did. This is my first encounter with Metalurh. I had been thinking about it, getting ready. Derby is derby, it is dangerous and responsible.

- Shakhtar has always had problems with tall forwards. Today you had exactly this kind of personal rival, but you managed to neutralize him. Did you follow your coach’s instructions?
- Тhe coach told me not to let him take the ball. I coped with the task – he didn’t show anything!

- Did you get your face hurt in the collision with Mguni?
- I haven’t got any injuries! Not a single spot!

Darijo Srna:

- Today we played in a real derby. Metalurh is a good team with a skillful coach. Therefore we had been training hard for this game. Moreover that yesterday Dynamo lost some points, and we knew that if we would win today, we’d have a chance to compete for the gold in Ukrainian Championship. Metalurh played well today – true, it was a home match for them, but still their game was praiseworthy.

- Shakhtar is famous for overtaking opponents in the defense line. But today Metalurh did not yield to you in the midfield area.
- That’s what I’m telling, we missed Willian who had been injured. Also Tomas has just returned from his cap, and so have I. We are worn out. But we will try to recover – we still have 7 days before the game with Metalist.

- You are winning a second game in a row but with only one goal scored…
- How many goals does it take to win? I am happy with any score as long as it’s a winning one.

- Do you know that Fernandinho has become a father?
- Yes, I do, and I congratulate him on behalf of our team, wish for his kid to be healthy and lucky. Let love reign in their family forever!

- And why didn’t you devote today’s goal to the newly-born?
- It’s been a very tough game. But we’ll make up for that next time – my word!

Fernandinho:

- Ferna, congrats with the newly-born son! How’s your wife? And the baby?
- Everything’s alright. The baby’s weight is 3.100kg, 51cm high. Tomorrow I will talk to the doctor about taking them home.

- And what is your son’s full name? For all I know, Brazilian kids take patronymics…
- (laughs) His name is David Lucas Rosa.

- What about Fernandinho?
- No, no need in it (laughs).

- Were you present at the delivery?
- Yes, I was.

- And what are your impressions?
- It was OK, nothing scary, I stayed conscious. I even enjoyed the experience.

- So maybe you and Glacia should have another baby?
- Yes, we want another baby.
