Fernandinho: Happy with the return to the national team again!

The players of FC Shakhtar: Douglas Costa and Fernandinho took part in their first training session in Donetsk today after their returning from the training camp of Brazil national team. We asked The Pitmen’s seventh number to describe the time spent at the 'selesao'.

- Ferna, where exactly was the training camp held?
- Our team gathered at the camp of the Spanish Barcelona. Obviously, I was very pleased to be called up. I met many friends and got to know with many lads as well. Frankly, I am happy that I returned to the team!

- Did the champions of Spain interfere with training?
- (Laughs.) No, absolutely! We had a different schedule with Barcelona , so we even did not meet any of the "garnet-blue", besides, many of the FC Barcelona’s players left for their national teams. The only meeting happened during the last day, we met Guardiola, Puyol and Abidal.

- Has Mano Menezes held the full team meeting and what has been said at it?
- There has been a meeting but we have mostly talked about tactical issues.

- What has your training schedule been like?
- Throughout our gathering there we have had one training session a day.

- Have you had a lot of free time?
- No-no. In the mourning we have been resting and in the second half of the day we have been practicing. Actually, we have not had much free time there.

- Do you really think that the Dunga’s team lacked the Brazilian style of play?
- It is hard to say whether this is the case. But there was definitely something missing during the World Cup in South Africa. I am confident that the new coach will return to Brazil team that game, which was earlier.

- What role on the pitch were you instructed to play by Menezes?
- I performed the same functions as at Shakhtar, a playmaker's duties.

- Do you feel shame that you did not play against stronger teams than the second team of FC Barcelona?
- No, that was just enough. Moreover, our rivals were determined by the Brazilian football federation. So, there was no choice.
